Ariana Stickel, PhD

Biography

Dr. Stickel earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology from the University of Arizona. She completed a geropsychology clinical internship at the West Los Angeles VA and postdoctoral training in the Department of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego.

Throughout her training, Dr. Stickel has received support from multiple sources, including the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and Ford Foundation. She primarily examines the impact of cardiovascular disease risk factors on brain aging and cognition among middle-aged and older adults. Her recent investigations have focused on characterizing risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias among Latinos/es/xs.
