Miguel Zavala, PhD, MSc.

Dr. Zavala joined the School of Public Health at SDSU Imperial Valley. He received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.Sc. from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico. Dr. Zavala is an expert on applying air quality models for understanding the physical and chemical processes that drive air pollution and its environmental and health impacts. He was inspired by FUERTE's strong commitment to supporting environmental and health disparities research. He looks forward to working with the outstanding group of FUERTE researchers to address the health disparities of diverse communities and mentoring students.
